China’s enterprises’ sales revenue in the first 8 months is highlighted in four aspects, according to new invoice data released by the taxation authority.

From January to August, the industrial economy made steady progress, with sales revenue growth of 7.3 percent year-on-year. Among these, sales revenue in sectors of mining, manufacturing, and production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water rapidly rose by 8.3 percent, 7.5 percent, and 5 percent year-on-year, respectively. The equipment manufacturing sector, as a stabilizer, raised its sales revenue by 10.1 percent year on year. Specifically, sales revenue of manufacturers in computer and telecommunications equipment, electrical machinery and equipment, as well as devices and instruments increased by 18.8 percent, 14 percent and 14.1 percent year on year, respectively.

In this same period, new quality productive forces advanced rapidly, with high-tech sales revenue growing by 15.7 percent year-on-year. Among these, sales revenue of high-tech manufacturing rose by 18.9 percent year-on-year. In particular, sales revenue in artificial intelligence-related integrated circuits and intelligent vehicle-mounted equipment industries increased by 67.7 percent and 38.8 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The digital and real economies continued to deepen their integration, as core digital economy industries have earned more by 9 percent year-on-year. In particular, digital product manufacturing and digital product services raised their sales revenue by 16.6 percent and 11.1 percent year-on-year, respectively, reflecting continuing improvement in digital industrialization. Enterprises across the country have procured digital technology by 8.6 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. Manufactories stepped up their investment in industrial digital transformation by buying 17.1 percent more digital technology than that against 12 months ago.

—A unified national market is advancing, as trade sales revenue across the provinces accounted for 41.4 percent of total sales revenue, up 0.5 percentage points from the same period last year. Such sales revenue in transportation and logistics grew by 8.2 percent year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points more than the industry’s overall growth rate, effectively supporting the further formation of the unified national market.

Some sets of invoice data highlighted a trend in China’s economy toward new growth drivers and an improved structure since the beginning of this year. A series of tax and fee support policies from tax authorities will continue to enhance development momentum, stimulating market vitality and promoting economic development toward new and sound progress, so as to better achieve effective qualitative improvement and reasonable quantitative growth.
